No. You own everything you put into BookFactory and everything it generates for you. We claim no rights over your words or your story. It's yours — to publish, sell, or do whatever you like with.
No — not unless you force it to, which is against our terms. Two safeguards. First, the AI writes by predicting one piece of a word at a time from general patterns; it does not copy and paste passages, so producing the same text verbatim is extremely unlikely. Second — and this is unique to us — when you analyze an existing book, BookFactory extracts only the abstract, unprotectable craft structure (beat shapes, pacing, archetypes, twist mechanics), never the copyrighted prose, character names, settings, or signature lines. You supply all the original expression. As long as your own input is original, your output will be too. We encourage you to run a plagiarism checker to verify.
BookFactory is a tool for creativity, not a replacement for you. Think of it as a tireless writing partner and editor — it busts writer's block, pressure-tests your structure, and speeds you up. The vision, the choices, and the voice stay yours.
Under the hood we use leading large language models (currently DeepSeek's) running server-side. But the models are only the engine. The value is our proprietary layer on top: the 12-lever Breakout Score engine, the 9-card Story Analyzer, rolling-memory continuity for long books, multi-pass anti-AI humanization, and the IP-safe extraction firewall — none of which you'll find bolted onto a raw chatbot.
No. BookFactory does not train any models on your work. Your text is sent to our AI provider only to generate the result you asked for — your manuscript is your business, not training data.
Your working draft autosaves in your own browser. If you choose to save a project or sign in, it's stored in our database scoped to you. You can wipe everything saved on a device anytime from Account → Settings → Clear local data. We will never hold your writing hostage.
BookFactory is free while we're in active development — go build something. When paid plans arrive, you'll be able to cancel anytime with one click (no phone calls, no nonsense), and you'll always keep access to everything you've written, paid plan or not.
